Slavery to Freedom

Listen…learn…take part in the conversation…Join your friends, family and community for “Slavery to Freedom: An American Odyssey,” a lecture series set for February at MSU’s Kellogg Center. On Feb. 6, noted journalist, blogger and advocate Rochelle Riley takes the stage to challenge your thoughts about improving children’s lives and strengthening race relations. On Feb. 13, pastor, author and radio show host Frederick D. Haynes III brings his messages of social justice and a call to action to Michigan. Finally, meet a witness to history on Feb. 27 when John Seigenthaler, who represented U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy with the Freedom Riders, shares his experiences and life as a journalist and editor.
